INTAGLIO PRINTMAKING

"Intaglio" is an umbrella term that applies to plates with scratched or etched lines and tones, usually printed with one color of ink per plate. In a New Editions workshop the default is to use the Drypoint process, scratching or sanding lines and tones directly into the surface of an acrylic plate. This is a direct, quick way to make a beautiful intaglio print. Lines and tones can also be etched on copper plates with ferric chloride at the studio. Please to get in touch ahead of time to make sure we have the materials for you to purchase and do this.
